Bathroom in San Juan Bautista

Here are two images from the bathroom next to the Mission in San Juan Bautista. The first one I took is on the right then I guess I decided to take my glasses off and take another one. This was after I dropped off my work at Galeria Tonantzin for the Virgin show and after I bought a couple of sugar skull molds at the very cute store across the street.

I can't sleep :(

Its 4:30am on Saturday morning and I can't sleep. I haven't had trouble sleeping in a long time. When I woke up this morning I had dark circles under my eyes and now I just look very sleepy because I AM!

One pack of film

I think I did this in August or early September. I used one pack of 600 film with my Polaroid 600 camera and tried to take the exact same picture one right after the other. The flash of course has to recycle before you can push the button and it often causes me to be caught in between a blink. I'm not sure what I'll do with these. They have been sitting on the floor of my studio.

from an old journal

I came across this image when I was putting together a presentation of my work for the PH699 Self As Subject Class and used it as the first page of my power point presentation. I should probably make the background more black.

Teeter Totter in Iceland

This is in Iceland across the street from Soffia's house. I used the Santa Barbara Pinhole Camera and balanced it on the teeter totter.

September 17th, 2007

Last night I realized I had not yet taken my self-portrait for the day and decided to sit on the toilet and point the camera down at my face. This was the result. I didn't purposely close my eyes, the camera just caught me in between a blink.

old i-zone image

I came across this i-zone image. It is from October 23rd, 2004!! What happend to her?

Randi Feuerhelm-Watts

I came across Randi's work in a book called Kaliedoscope yesterday. It mentioned that she had a self-portrait zine. When I got home I ordered the 3 that were available on the web. Then I thought, her name seems really familiar to me... I then realized I have her deck of cards called Wide Open: Inspiration Techniques for Art Journaling. I bought it in Calistoga in June.

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

I think I look like a deer caught in headlights! This was 8pm on Sunday eve. I decided to print up some 2 1/4 random negs that were from one of my holgas. This was after a printing session.

enigmatic

Perplexing indeed. This may be the closest I've come in a while to what I think I want.

That vacant look. The deep black background. A floating head of sorts.

Dumbfounded. Uncertain.

Photo Booth at Rayko Photo Center

This was from the Rayko Photo Booth on World Wide Pinhole Day, April 29th, 2007. I made 7 strips. I love the movement of the head and hand on this one.

Steep Ravine

May 30th, 2007. The last glorious day at the cabins at Steep Ravine. It is so peaceful there. I wish we would have stayed longer. The soothing sound of the ocean, the beautiful view and the rustic cabin (no running water or electricity in the cabin).

Ron Flory's Self-Portrait

From Light Leaks Magazine, Issue #6 (Me, Photographer & Subject).
Untitled, image made from Ansco with homemade pinhole.

A sense of humor?

Purchased two cap guns at the Alameda Antique Faire for $10. One doesn't really work but looks cute.

This was my attempt at a humorous self-portrait. Somewhat inspired by an image that I saw in Light Leaks Magazine, Issue #6 by Ron Flory. www.ronjflory.com

Although, I don't find his image humorous at all.
